For the team behind Do. Star Coffee, running is simply part of the daily ritual. Their community run club now meets twice a week, with open sessions every Wednesday at 7 pm and Saturday at 8:30 am. Everyone is welcome, and every run ends the same way: with a well-earned cup of filter coffee.

An open, free community run welcoming everyone, whatever their pace or experience. Every Saturday, runners set off at an easy, conversational pace along the Bolshaya Almatinka river embankment. At the finish, a cup of filter coffee awaits, while Drinkit app users earn running cashback.

Every Friday at 7 am, the Make Love Pizza team meets for a community run led by a coach. Afterwards, runners are rewarded with pizza and a complimentary coffee — espresso, latte or cappuccino.
Those who prefer to run after dark should keep an eye on Fika’s Moon Run. The route changes regularly — one recent edition covered a six-kilometre stretch to Kok-Tobe. The best part comes afterwards, when runners gather back at Fika over coffee, a glass of wine and the café’s seasonal specials.

Voronka is rewarding those who like to start the day on the move. Complete one of three daily challenges — walk 12,000 steps, run five kilometres or cycle 25 — then show your result to a member of staff. In return, you’ll receive a complimentary filter coffee with any breakfast or main course. The offer runs all day, and activity can be verified through Strava, Apple Health, Garmin, Nike Run Club or another fitness app.
Born out of a running community, Kudos has grown into one of Almaty’s hubs for active living. The café has also partnered with adidas on its Zhanym, You Can Do It campaign. Regular free community runs are followed by coffee, yoga and other fitness sessions, with everyone welcome to join. Upcoming meet-ups are announced via the café’s social media channels.
