Next door is the pottery studio of Otabek, one of the project’s founders, who made every piece of tableware for the café. Mugs, cups, plates, vases: no two are alike, though regular workshops offer the chance to make something in the same spirit. The rest of the interior has its own singular character. Vintage rugs, tables and mirrors were chosen with care, each adding to the rooms’ distinctly Uzbek feel, alongside the painted ceiling and carved wooden details.
The compact menu is built around coffee, from an Americano (35,000 soums), iced latte (50,000) and cold brew (40,000) to more inventive combinations: halva cappuccino (55,000), Spanish latte with caramelised condensed milk (50,000) and pomegranate cold brew (60,000). Tea (30,000), house lemonade (35,000) and hot chocolate (30,000) round out the drinks list. The sweets are few but thoughtfully chosen: chocolate cookies (35,000), halva or pecan cookies (40,000 each), and cookies made with kurut (45,000).
Coffee, something sweet and a view of the ethnographic park from the second-floor terrace: a welcome way to while away the hottest hours of the day.
