Cottage

Parents are sure to love this nostalgic, family-style restaurant. At Zinaida, the interior feels like a trip to grandma’s house and the menu is all about home-cooked comfort. While tradition reigns here, there are some meals with a modern twist. Alongside childhood favorites like herring under a fur coat, stuffed peppers, and homemade cutlets, you’ll also find trendier dishes, including grilled broccoli with unagi sauce, cabbage with truffle sauce and caviar, and a Five Cheese pizza. The restaurant offers a signature menu with a focus on Russian-French cuisine, featuring unique and delicious options like an eel rillette éclair, olivier with brisket and tomato powder, confit chicken, and veal pie. For a perfect finishing touch, we recommend the Forest Bounty set with pine cone jam, chestnut honey, cornelian cherry preserves, and an assortment of nuts—perfect for an intimate tea time with Mom.

Sorrento

For those who miss Italy or dream of visiting, you’re in luck: Sorrento will take you on an Italian gastronomic journey without ever leaving Tashkent. If you want to treat Mom to a whole ocean of flavors, Kaspiyka is the place. Specializing in seafood, it offers over 50 types of fish and shellfish dishes. You can go for a classic vacation-style dinner with oysters, mussels, tartares, and pastas, or seek out oceanic treasures like their signature sturgeon samsa, crab dogs, and shrimp popcorn. The best part—there’s prosecco on tap. It’s a guaranteed way to add sparkle to the evening.

We recommend starting the night with a tuna salad or big green salad, moving on to the fresh spring rolls and souvlaki skewers, and finishing with shrimp orzo or grilled skirt steak with Romano. A bit of an unexpected choice, but if you really want to impress Mom, take her to Oko. This tropical escape in the middle of Tashkent offers an unforgettable experience. The interior feels like a beachfront restaurant in Bali, while the panoramic windows showcase the city’s familiar charm. The cuisine is high-end, but not in the stereotypical «something tiny on a giant plate» way. Here, it’s all about bold flavors and stunning presentation.
