On the Cascade, Charles has been welcoming guests for more than 15 years and has long become a classic for date nights in the city. The restaurant is named after the legendary Charles Aznavour, and it almost feels as if the kind of love he sang about has settled here for good.
The menu leans toward timeless European classics rather than passing trends: carpaccio, artichokes with parmesan, pasta, risotto, steaks. Old World wines, white tablecloths, fresh flowers — everything about the setting feels elegant and effortlessly romantic.
On Saryan Street, tucked behind the façade of an old mansion, you’ll find Mina, a project with Italian and Lebanese roots and a quietly refined character. History, contemporary design, the aromas of a wood-fired oven, and the soft clink of glasses all come together to create the feeling of a Mediterranean villa.
A table set with a crisp white tablecloth quickly fills with small plates, antipasti and mezze where Middle Eastern flavors meet Italy. Then come the classics: Neapolitan pizza with its signature «leopard-spotted» crust, pasta and risotto, kofta and tagliata, all prepared according to the recipes of chef Dmitry Ilyin and his team.
The wine list focuses on Mediterranean producers and in 2025 received international recognition from Wine Spectator and Fine Wine.
Perhaps the most romantic place in the city is Poplavok Park. For locals, it’s not just a place on the map but something of a legend, which makes a date here feel like part of Yerevan’s own romantic tradition.
Inside the park is Loona, a restaurant by Moscow’s AVA Team. The atmosphere inside blends charm, polish, lightness, and a sense of occasion all at once.
From morning onward, the focus is on beautiful details. Syrniki, scrambled eggs, dumplings with crab and red caviar are served in elegant dishware, often with a complimentary glass of rosé. The main menu features refined crudo and tartares, crisp pizzas, and fresh pasta. Many dishes can be elevated further with black truffle, bottarga, aged parmesan, or provolone. Champagne from the restaurant’s extensive wine list completes the picture.
Not far from Poplavok is another well-known restaurant, Terra. It’s another destination worth planning a romantic evening around, especially if you’re drawn to dishes cooked over open fire.
Shashlik, kebabs, steaks, and ribs might not sound traditionally romantic, but at Terra they absolutely are. Vegetables from the Josper grill deserve special attention: sweet potato with yogurt and pesto, ramiro peppers with stracciatella, broccoli with cashew sauce.
The menu carries a distinctly southern influence, with touches of Italy and Spain alongside recipes from Israel and Morocco. The wine list reflects the same wide-ranging spirit.
At La Piazza by Lucky Group, the evening follows a simple but perfect rhythm. Choose a table by the window, where the city becomes a soft backdrop for your date, take your time with the menu, share dishes, and watch the life of Northern Avenue unfold outside.
The interior alone is reason enough to visit: rich wood, marble, brass, and a touch of vintage charm. The restaurant’s language of love is expressed through dishes like vitello tonnato and tartare, oval-shaped pizzas, and pasta with silky sauces, all executed beautifully.
One section of the wine list is devoted entirely to Armenian wines, while another highlights wines served by the glass.
Livingstone turns dinner into a full evening out. Panoramic views, ambitious cuisine, music, and a lively atmosphere make it the kind of place that calls for dressing up a little.
According to its creators, the menu is inspired by the idea of freedom and flight, much like the seagull in Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. Expect dishes such as salmon carpaccio with parmesan cream, octopus with chorizo cream, sterlet with vongole purée, and chocolate cigars for dessert.
The drinks list includes a strong selection of Armenian wines alongside classic European bottles.
As evening falls, the space comes alive. From 20:00 to 22:20, music from the 1960s–70s and the 1990s is performed by a jazz orchestra led by maestro Yervand Yerznkyan. Later, the night transitions smoothly into contemporary DJ sets.
This wine-focused project in central Yerevan suits almost any kind of date. A hidden courtyard with an open kitchen is perfect for relaxed evenings. The bar area works for slightly dressier yet still casual plans, while the elegant dining room with white tablecloths is ideal for a more celebratory occasion.
Wherever you sit, you’ll find an extensive wine selection from around the world: Armenian sparkling wines, rare Old World bottles, and trendy biodynamic producers. The sommeliers are always happy to recommend something interesting, especially from the by-the-glass offerings.
The menu keeps things familiar but well executed. Pizzas and focaccia, tartares and carpaccio, pasta and steaks appear throughout the menu. These are classic dishes prepared with care and attention to detail.
