Mona
When you need more than just a meeting — and want to
impress your business partner, we recommend Mona. The centerpiece of the dining
room is the cosmic floating Galam chandelier by Anuar Shaimergenov, known for
his destinctive kinetic installations (his blooming bud chandeliers can be seen
at Pecanta café). This striking element is softened by the interior’s neutral
wall tones and furnishings that combine wood, stone, and glass — perfect decor
for business meetings where you want to maintain professionalism while keeping
things comfortable. The second floor offers a private space for undisturbed
discussions.
Mona’s menu will please both traditionalists and
adventurers: from Russian dressed herring and lagman to shrimp salad with
mango-truffle sauce, and beef dim sum with ponzu. The bar selection is equally
varied. Beyond classics, we recommend their signature teas and cocktails with fresh
fruit purees.
Roastbeef
Located near embassies, the State Opera and Ballet
Theater, and a premier business center, Roastbeef is located slightly off the
beaten path, making it ideal for those who value tranquility. The restaurant
specializes in Dry Aged beef, matured in controlled chambers where temperature
and humidity enhance the steaks' flavor. These aging chambers, along with live
oyster tanks, are proudly displayed as part of the dining room decor.
Spacious tables ensure comfort, while natural green
hedges between dining areas add privacy. For those needing complete discretion,
Roastbeef offers two VIP rooms, seating 8 and 10 guests, with private
restrooms.
The restaurant suits any time of day: breakfast is
served until noon, while lunch and dinner focus on meaty comfort food. Our
favorites include roast beef with mushroom sauce, «yesterday’s»
borscht, and of course, prime-grade steaks.
Monte Bianco
Situated in the heart of Astana’s government district
near the Presidential Administration, Monte Bianco sits amidst the city’s
highest concentration of white-collar professionals. While most nearby venues are
large and noisy, this restaurant offers an intimate, quiet setting. The
interior pays homage to Pablo Picasso — The Absinthe Drinker graces the menu
cover while Les Demoiselles d’Avignon adorns the walls.
To celebrate successful deals, guests can choose from an
impressive wine collection displayed on floor-to-ceiling shelves at the back of
the dining room. To impress partners, we recommend the Parmigiano Reggiano
pasta prepared inside a cheese wheel and the bresaola pizza, sliced tableside
using a specialty slicer.
Osteria Luce
This Italian restaurant with ten years of history has two
entrances: the main one on Sarayshyk Street and a more discreet rear entrance
leading directly to the VIP rooms. The space transitions from bright areas
suitable for business lunches to darker, more private zones perfect for
extended negotiations; the space is divided by a wine cellar and oyster tanks.
The menu presents a complete palette of Italian
cuisine, ranging from classic pasta and pizza to complex signature dishes. We
recommend trying the oysters, mushroom risotto with truffle sauce, and warm
olives with ricotta.
Qazaq Gourmet
When hosting visiting partners, Qazaq Gourmet makes an
excellent choice. The interior is rich with cultural references: dombras on the
walls, traditional chests and cushions, and even a VIP room styled after a
yurt’s dastarkhan that seats up to eight guests.
Brand chef Artem Kantsev’s menu takes diners on a
journey through Kazakhstan’s culinary traditions. Alongside classics like lamb
manti, you’ll find more extravagant options like purple manti stuffed with
sturgeon and saffron, traditional Kazakh eti with horse meat, and a
western-style beshbarmak with fish.
Qazaq Gourmet rightfully holds its place as one of the
country’s finest Kazakh cuisine restaurants, having earned recognition from the
national WhereToEat Kazakhstan Awards and a spot in the prestigious La Liste
global rankings.
